Wilmington, DE
Full Time
Mid Level

Procurement Cost Analyst — BOM & Landed Cost Specialist
BPG International | Wilmington, DE (Hybrid — 2 days on-site) | Full-Time | Salaried Exempt

Why This Role Matters
If you live and breathe consumer product cost models, know your way around an HTS code schedule, and want to own the full BOM costing process for a growing consumer products innovator — this role was built for you.

BPG International is a global consumer product company headquartered in Wilmington, DE, with over 800 commercialized products — including an industry-leading portfolio of air care products. We're a team of people who take product innovation seriously, move fast, and genuinely passionate about what we do.

We're looking for a Procurement Cost Analyst to join our Operations team and take ownership of cost modeling and procurement analysis across our finished goods, raw materials, and new product pipeline. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that reports directly to the VP of Operations and sits at the intersection of procurement, supply chain, finance, and new product development.

What You'll Own
Your work directly informs sourcing decisions and protects and enhances BPG's product margins across our full SKU portfolio. Here's where you'll make the biggest impact:

BOM & Landed Cost Modeling
You'll be the internal subject matter expert (SME) for all product costing — building and maintaining full turnkey cost models that capture every element from factory cost through to the distribution center.

  • Build and maintain master Bill of Materials (BOM) cost sheets, ERP Cost Masters and supporting tools
  • Model and calculate full landed costs for all assigned products, including inbound freight, duties, tariffs, and distribution expenses
  • Manage MOQs, EOQs, and lead time variables within the costing process
  • Serve as the go-to SME for all Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes, import duties, VAT, and exchange rate impacts on landed cost
  • Support monthly financial reviews with accurate, up-to-date cost data

New Product Development (NPD) Costing
From first concept through commercial launch, you own the costing track on every new product project.

  • Execute RFQs for new products and calculate landed costs using assigned tools and templates
  • Manage component costing from concept-to-launch as an active supporting member of the New Product Development team
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Sourcing, and Development to hit cost targets and launch timelines
  • Track and report costing updates for all assigned NPD projects at regularly scheduled team reviews
  • Measure results against target cost objectives; build mitigation plans when targets are at risk
  • Transition new products to daily supply chain operations upon launch completion

Cost Analysis & Savings Initiatives
You won't just track costs — you'll actively help drive them down.

  • Analyze procurement and transportation costs; proactively identify and recommend savings opportunities
  • Support line reviews, upstream costing initiatives, rework projects, and strategic sourcing efforts
  • Provide financial analysis supporting product life cycle changes in partnership with Marketing and Sales
  • Calculate and provide costing models for opportunity analysis across all distribution channels

Supplier Management & Negotiation
You'll build and leverage supplier relationships to keep BPG globally cost-competitive.

  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships to facilitate timely, accurate costing data
  • Issue RFQs, negotiate pricing, and make supplier recommendations based on total cost of ownership analysis
  • Support sourcing of new suppliers to achieve cost savings targets

Continuous Improvement
  • Proactively identify and champion process improvements within procurement and supply chain operations
  • Drive ERP system adoption and business process consistency across the organization
  • Identify component cost reduction opportunities on new product programs to support competitive pricing

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in procurement, supply chain planning, or a dedicated product costing role
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing landed cost models (BOM costing, inbound logistics, duties, tariffs, distribution)
  • Working knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes, import duties, VAT, and exchange rate impacts
  • Proven experience executing RFQs and negotiating supplier pricing in a consumer goods, manufacturing, or CPG environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency — pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, financial modeling, data mining; not just basic spreadsheet use
  • Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP platforms for cost sheet management and procurement workflows
  • Demonstrated experience participating in new product launches in a costing or procurement capacity
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — you've worked closely with Marketing, Sales, and/or R&D teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred / Nice-to-Have
  • Background in consumer products, CPG, air care, fragrance, home goods, or adjacent industries
  • International and domestic freight / logistics experience; understanding of freight modes and carrier management
  • Exposure to consumer packaging, injection molded components, or contract manufacturing
  • APICS CPIM, CPM, or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
  • Active membership in ISM, CSCMP, or a comparable supply chain professional organization

The Profile We're Hiring
Beyond the technical qualifications, the right candidate will bring these qualities to the team:
  • Self-Starter: Operates independently; doesn't wait to be told when costs need investigation
  • Detail Oriented: Manages complex cost data at high volume with consistent accuracy
  • Clear Communicator: Translates financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance audiences
  • Collaborative: Works comfortably across procurement, marketing, sales, and supply chain
  • Results Driven: Tracks outcomes against objectives; builds mitigation plans when targets slip
  • Process Improver: Continuously looks for ways to eliminate bottlenecks and drive better outcomes
